Working with LGBTQ+ Clients

As a member of the community myself, I welcome clients who identify as LGBTQ+. Many people who come to therapy want a space where they don’t have to explain or justify who they are, and where their experiences can be understood with openness and respect.

For some LGBTQ+ people, life can involve navigating misunderstanding, judgement, prejudice, or the pressure to hide parts of themselves. Even in more accepting environments, the impact of earlier experiences – such as rejection, shame, or feeling different – can still be felt many years later.

Therapy can offer a place where these experiences can be explored safely and without assumption.

A space where you can be yourself

In our work together, my aim is to create a space where you can talk openly about your identity, relationships and experiences without fear of judgement.

Clients sometimes come to therapy wanting to explore things such as:

  • coming to terms with their sexual orientation or gender identity
  • navigating relationships with partners, family or friends
  • experiences of rejection, shame or internalised stigma
  • the impact of growing up feeling different or misunderstood
  • building a stronger sense of self-acceptance

At other times, clients simply want therapy for the same reasons anyone else might seek support — anxiety, relationship difficulties, loss, trauma, or feeling stuck in life — while knowing their identity will be respected and understood.

Therapy that meets you where you are

My approach to therapy is collaborative, thoughtful and non-judgemental. Rather than offering quick solutions, I work alongside clients to understand how their experiences and relationships have shaped the way they feel about themselves and others.

My approach to therapy is integrative, meaning I draw on different therapeutic perspectives to help us together understand your experiences, explore patterns in your life and support meaningful change.

Online therapy

I offer therapy online to clients across the UK and internationally. Many people appreciate the flexibility of online sessions and the ability to speak from the comfort of their own space.

Getting in touch

If you’re considering therapy and would like to explore whether working together might feel right for you, you’re welcome to get in touch. I offer an initial conversation where we can talk about what has brought you to therapy and whether my approach feels like a good fit.
